I’m missing my May Book Recommendations because my file is not with me right now, but I will be posting it soon as soon as I retrieve it. Apologies!

For now, here comes my June Book Recommendation! I know this is a bit late as well, but I hope you will add this novel to your reading bucket list!

Archer’s Voice (A sign of love Novel)

Have you read a book that the cover seems intriguing and yet it captivated you?

This happened when my hands got Archer’s Voice. It was given to me by my sister from the US. I’m not sure though if this available here in the Philippines but I’m still sharing why I love this book and you might like it too!

Bree Prescott desperately seeks peace. She cannot live with her past anymore. She wanted to run far away from home and she found Pelion, Maine. The sleepy, lakeside town is the perfect place to start for a new life. Yet on her first day, she met Archer Hale, the isolated man everyone, not seeing or not cares to see. A man who has a secret of his own that captured Bree’s attention instantly.

What I like about the story:

The enigmatic partially deaf and mute, Archer. He may look like a caveman, but Archer surely knows how to win one’s heart. He lived alone in his huge mansion, he works with his own hands and he walks from miles just to be with Bree when he knows he scared of thunderstorms. I enjoyed the mystery of his character; it lets you wonder if this kind of guy is still exists.

Bree’s horrifying night and Archer’s traumatic childhood. The deaths of their loved ones push Bree and Archer together. Bree’s father died and that night changed everything for her. Right in Archer’s eyes, his mother and the uncle whom he loves dearly died and leaving him orphaned. Something revealed about him and it totally changes his life forever.

Quotes to remember:
Archer to Bree
You did fight, Bree. You survived. You fought to live. And you did.”

Maybe there was no right or wrong, no black or white, only a thousand shades of gray when it came to pain and what we each held ourselves responsible for.

“Because I don’t want to be anyone except you. I didn’t want her. I only want you. I only want you, Bree.”- My heart!
Bree to Archer
Archer’s arms were my home- the only place I wanted to be, the place where I feel safe. The place where I felt loved.

“Loving you isn’t a burden. Loving you is an honor and a joy, Archer. You couldn’t talk me out of loving you, if you tried anyway. It’s not a choice for me. It’s just a truth.”

Bad things don’t happen to people because they deserve them to happen. It just doesn’t work that way. It’s just…life. And no matter who we are, we have to take hand we’re dealt, crappy though it maybe, and try our very best to move forward anyway, to move anyway to have hope anyway… to have faith, that there’s a purpose to the journey were continue. And try to believe that maybe more light shines out of those who have the most cracks.

“Sometimes I think of those little pieces of fabric when life feels really messy and difficult to understand. I try to close my eyes and believe that even though I can’t see the other side I’m looking of is ugly and muddled, there’s a masterpiece that’s being woven out of all the knots and loose strings. I try to believe that same thing beautiful can result from something ugly, and that there will come a time when I’ll get to see what that is. You helped me see my own picture, Archer. Let me help you see yours.”

And sometimes, that’s all it takes-one person who’s willing to listen to your heart, to the sound no one else has ever tried to hear.
Verdict:
I found the book cover very intriguing and I knew that it is a love story, yet I was still amazed how Mia Sheridan pinched my heart with sadness and made my heart soared with happiness. I’m very ecstatic because I will see Archer Hale soon on the big screen! I hope the filmmakers will give justice to the book.
