Historical Romance is one of my favorite book genres and I’m glad that this June, a historical romance writer is going to have her book signing event!
When I saw at Powerbook Facebook page that Tessa Dare is coming in the country, I got excited immediately! It will be the first international book signing that I will attend to and I can’t wait for it.
Here is the information for the much awaited book signing event!
Only books purchased from Powerbooks, National Book Store and National Book Store Express will be accommodated.
‘Romancing the Duke’, the first book in Tessa Dare’s latest series ‘Castles Ever After’, is described by Publishers Weekly as a “a unique twist to a fairy tale, complete with an ancient castle, a damsel in distress, and a wounded hero”. Isolde Ophelia Goodnight grew up on tales of brave knights and fair maidens being the daughter of a well-known
author. As her storybooks offered endless possibilities, she never doubted romance would soon
be part of her life. As time passes by, she gives up yearning for romance and the never been kissed woman settles for a roof over her head. The series continues in ‘Say Yes to the Marquess’, which was released in December, and in ‘When a Scot Ties the Knot’, which will be released in August.
Tessa Dare is the bestselling and award winning author of more than a dozen historical romances including the ‘Spindle Cove’ series (‘A Night to Surrender’, ‘A Week to be Wicked’, ‘A Lady by Midnight’, ‘Beauty and the Blacksmith’, and ‘Any Duchess Will Do’), ‘The Stud Club’ trilogy (‘One Dance with a Duke’, ‘Twice Tempted by a Rogue’ and ‘Three Nights with a Scoundrel’), ‘The Wanton Dairymaid’ trilogy (‘Goddess of the Hunt’, ‘Surrender of a Siren’, and ‘Lady of Persuasion’), ‘Scandalous, Dissolute, No Good Mr. Right’, and the
‘Castles Ever After’ series. Her books bagged numerous accolades including Romance Writers of America’s
RITA® award and have been translated in several languages. She is a librarian by training and a book lover at heart. Married to a Filipino, Tessa worked at a library in the Philippines and has recently visited Tacloban.
The event is made possible in partnership with Raffles Makati.

In the second installment of the Castle Ever After Series: Say Yes To Marquess, meet the 25th year old Lady Clio Whitmore who have been eight years engaged with a marquess. She got tired waiting and when she was about to break the engagement when the notorious and devilish Rake of Somerset, Rafe Brandon comes along who will do anything to make the wedding possible.
Title: Say Yes to the Marquess (Castles Ever After #2)
Author: Tessa Dare
Date of Publication: December 30, 2014
Your presence is requested at romantic Twill Castle for the wedding of Miss Clio Whitmore and
. . . and . . . ?
After eight years of waiting for Piers Brandon, the wandering Marquess of Granville, to set a
wedding date, Clio Whitmore has had enough. She’s inherited a castle, scraped together some
pride, and made plans to break her engagement.
Not if Rafe Brandon can help it. A ruthless prizefighter and notorious rake, Rafe is determined
that Clio will marry his brother—even if he has to plan the dratted wedding himself.
So how does a hardened fighter cure a reluctant bride’s cold feet?
*He starts with flowers. A wedding can’t have too many flowers. Or harps. Or cakes.
*He lets her know she’ll make a beautiful, desirable bride—and tries not to picture her as his.
*He doesn’t kiss her.
*If he kisses her, he definitely doesn’t kiss her again.
*When all else fails, he puts her in a stunning gown. And vows not to be nearby when the gown
*And no matter what—he doesn’t fall in disastrous, hopeless love with the one woman he can never call his own.
What I like about the story:
The prim but unpredictable Clio! She was taught to be the best bride for a marquess and learned everything from geography to business but she is more than the obedient and polite woman. Cake sounds, brewery and taste of alcoholic drinks, Clio is the girl to call!
Meet the exaggerated sister and an intelligent sibling. I can relate with Clio having Daphne and Phoebe as her sisters! Daphne might be demanding but deep inside she wants happiness to come to her dear sister. Being clever is okay but Phoebe’s insensitivity with human issues may come in handy.
Rafe: the Devil’s Own! Not familiar with prize fighter but glad that I was introduced with it. Prize fighting was the medieval version of boxing and Rafe was famous for it. He is unstoppable and scary inside the ring but when if it is about Clio, this handsome guy easily melts down.
How it ends:
No baby along the way but having your own business and the man you’ve been in love with for the rest of your life is a perfect ending.
The first time I read the synopsis, I was not hooked. I mean who likes to read a story about two brothers fighting for one woman. Not me! Yet when it came to my doorstep for a book review, let’s gave this a try. The twists was unexpected and I was compelled to finish the book in just one day! Great job Tessa Dare!
I can’t wait for the next installment which is When A Scot Ties A Knot that will be released on August! Another book to look forward to!
Thank you Pinoy Book Tours for given a chance to read and review this wonderful story!
