To celebrate Global Handwashing Day, Lysol is giving away gift packs to five (5) lucky readers of Joei & Me. All you have to do is to take a #handfie like mine below.
What is a #Handfie?
Which is why the world celebrates Global Handwashing Day every October 15 to educate people about handwashing with soap. And this year, Lysol raises awareness through #handfies, which are photos taken of your clean hands after washing. For every #handfie shared, Lysol pledges to educate one child on healthy habits to break the chain of infection. Thanks to your #handfies, children all over the world will learn about healthy handwashing habits.
Last October 18, I got the privilege to attend with the launching of the newest product from L’Occitane En Provence which was Divine Youth Oil at Rustan’s Makati.
My workshop mates!
I honestly have crack and dry skin during the launch but right after the workshop and using L’Occitane En Provence products specifically the Divine Youth Oil and Immortelle Eye Balm, my skin was soft and my new friend Shera even said that my face glows! Wow!
Thank you for the wonderful experience L’ Occitane! I learned a new application technique in using moisturizer and serum. I love your newest line of product and I can’t wait to try the complete set of Immortelle Divine!
October is moving so fast and I couldn’t believe that it is almost December! Last year, I treated my close friends at Bulgogi Brothers and I super enjoyed the experience.
I wanted to treat one of you to dine at the Korean restaurant and share it to your family or friends. That’s why I’m giving out a 1,000 worth of Bulgogi GC’s!
How to win?
Very simple, just guess how much is the total of these two Korean desserts that my friends and I went gaga with when we visited a Korean café somewhere in Manila!
Post your answers on the comment box section of the status message on my page which is https://www.facebook.com/pages/Perks-Be-With-You/316743821763572 . Share the give-away, make it public and don’t forget to tag me.
ONE GUESS PER PERSON only! No editing of your answers. Once I liked you entry, it means your guess price is validated and final.
Give-away will start by 10 tonight (October 23) and it will end tomorrow (October 24), 12 nn. I will be announcing the winner by 4 pm.
Metro Manila residents only can join the contest because I’ll be giving out the GC’s personally, however, if you are living in the provinces near Metro Manila and really eager to join and win the contest, you will have to pay the shipment of the GC’s.
*The person who guesses the amount correctly or almost nearly will win the GC’s. In case, there are two or more people who have the same answers, I will use a random.org to determine the winner.
I will reveal the exact amount and the name of the desserts plus the restaurant before I announce the name of the winner.
The GC’s will expire on December 31, 2014. Terms and conditions are applied with the usage of the GC’s.
Good luck to everyone! May the force of guessing be with you!

What food/s will you get to consume a 1,000php bill in one sitting?
I contemplated that question when I ate alone one Sunday afternoon at My Kitchen by Chef Chris.
My Kitchen by Chef Chris is located at Oasis Paco Park Hotel near the Paco Park, Manila. It is just a walking distance from the LRT UN Ave. You just have to pass by Emilio Aguinaldo College and you will immediately see the Paco Park.
It was lunch time and I expected that there were few diners but when I arrived at the restaurant there were families sitting near the table that I requested for reservation.
The attentive attendant gave me the menu as soon as I sat from the chair.
I scanned the menu and I was shocked with the price list! Most of the names of the meal were new to me. There were no photos and that’s why I settled for a vegetarian meal which I would surely enjoy. I asked for their dessert list (which has a separate menu) and the waitress suggested that I take their best seller.
While waiting for my order, I observed the place. It was not your typical large restaurant. In fact, I found it cozy and intimate especially the jazz music in the back ground. The displayed paintings on the walls are for sale and outside, the small pool was inviting.
As a complimentary, I was given a wheat bread with pesto and oil dipped top with cheese which I enjoyed munching.
The Mango Chilled Juice came after. I asked for it because it was the safest flavor drink that I could think of and I was glad I had it.
It was not the ordinary mango juice that I usually take. At first sipped I tasted the mango but later on there was a flavor I couldn’t name of that gave cool sensation in my mouth. I loved their Mango Chilled Juice!
When the Brown Rice Danielle was served in front of me, I was staring at it for a minute. I couldn’t help thinking that this meal would surely make me mouthwatering.
It has asparagus, onion, tofu, brown rice, walnut, basil leaves, cheese and spinach. It tasted good but later on I was fed up that I just consumed all of it because I didn’t want it to be wasted.
The total amount of my lunch: Php 940 but there was a service charge: Php 96.
Will I go back?
Yes for the impressive services and piquant foods. No for the lavish price though.

Last September 27, I attended a very cool workshop at SM Jazz.
Not familiar? If you are wondering where it is located, you can see it near the SMDC Jazz Residences at Nicanor Garcia cor. Jupiter, Makati City. I must say this is one of the high-end malls I’ve ever seen. Maybe because it’s new and it’s location is not in a very crowded area.
The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf organized a workshop called “Happiness is Sharing It with Others” from 11:00 am-1:30 pm and thank you to Miss Kinney of @Manila Shopaholic’s blog because I was able to join the said wonderful event!
It was my first time to go to SM Jazz and be part of CBTL workshop. I was ecstatic when I received an email that I got a slot!
The workshop was divided into two parts:
The first one was an inspirational talk of ‘Making Others Happy’ from Mr. Apa Alviar of Make-A-Wish Foundation and who is also founder of The Exuberant Life.
Who is your family? Where you belong? Always remember that you are part of someone’s tribe.
*You are your own brand.
1. Who you are?
3. Are you consistent?
*Be an exuberant one!
Steps to Exuberance:
c. What makes you happy?
-What legacy will you left behind?
*Making Others Happy
-What happy is to them?
We can all be part of Make a Wish Foundation! They have 800 volunteers and eight staffs as of now. Let us be the way to make the kids wishes come true! Wish to meet, wish to give, wish to do and wish to go!
Time to eat lunch!
The second part is the Art of Doodling Workshop by Memory Crafters!
The workshop was led by Nico Redrico or the @Paperboysupreme who was really great with his craft!
The first one we had to think of three words that have a big impact with our lives. I chose Books, Kids and Morning! I liked what Nico said about art work that even though it is just a simple message, it shows your emotion which is true!
The latter activity was more exciting because we had to create our own design card cover!
After doing our artworks everyone were asked to participate and show their creations!
I was able to learn a lot about the basic doodling though my works could not be passed for a doodle art.
I still had fun creating my ‘art pieces’!
I was grateful with the workshop which is part of their Brew Your Best Year event that I’m also sharing this happiness to you! One of my favorite workshops I’ve been so far!
What makes you happy and how do you share it? I love to hear from you! 🙂
