The newest installment of Godzilla which I luckily watched before it hits the cinema houses in the Philippines is incredibly different from the 1998 film.
Godzilla is my favorite movie monster and I was very excited when it was announced that it will be shown again. Yay! Honestly, I could not remember the movie in 1998 but I know that the new version is not a continuation from the former. If my memory is right, the last scene in the old movie was Godzilla died but one of her eggs, survived.
The advanced screening happened last May 12 at SM Megamall, Cinema 1.
What are you going to expect with the film?
I listed below the 5 things that you will definitely see!
1. It all started in the PHILIPPINES!
In the beginning of the movie, a place in the Philippines is been featured. I’m actually not familiar where it was shot but it is near the Pacific Ocean. The story started in the year 1999 where the archaeologists saw an ‘unnatural thing’ hanging on the deepest part of the cave.
2. MUTO wants to rule the world.
The said to be strong ‘earthquake’ that took place in Janjira Nuclear Plant in Japan was said to be caused by an ‘unknown specie’. As the egg hatched, a monster which is called Muto started to destruct the place. In the movie, a female Muto does not have wings yet it is bigger compare to male Muto who can fly. What is Muto’s main food? Radiation!
3. Lieutenant Ford’s nine lives!
Aaron Taylor-Johnson who plays Lieutenant Ford Brody is one of the main characters in the film and I must his life is like a cat! He survived almost all of the attack and fury of the Mutos and Godzilla. He was in Janjira when the Muto came out; he was riding a train when it flew to Hawaii, he was only the sole survivor when it attacked a train carrying an explosive bomb and he was alive when the big explosion destroyed the nesting ground of Muto. Wow!
4. Godzilla vs Muto
This is the most exciting part of the movie! The two mutos joined forces to kill Godzilla! Who won the epic battle? You have to find it for yourself!
5. Godzilla as a Savior!
Far from the 1998 hit movie, the Godzilla in 2014 woke up because the humans are in endangered. Godzilla became everyone’s superhero! I was expecting a scarier monster yet Godzilla proves that he is still the most powerful creature in the world with his hair raising roar and incredible superpower!
You have to see the film to fully understand the story. Don’t forget that Godzilla opens in the Philippines on May 15!
