Expect the unexpected. I always enjoy a little bit of surprises with my day. It was an early call from all of us. We grabbed our breakfast at the nearby McDonalds before heading for a bus ride going to Mardi Gras. We expected to see the parade with out own eyes but unfortunately we didn’t! Instead, the Mardi Gras World was actually a place where costumes and props are being created.

The Souvenir shop!

We watched a video on how the Mardi Gras started at New Orleans.

We love the colorful costumes!

One more shot!

Mardi Gras means ‘Fat Tuesday’ and it is always being celebrated during the Holy Week. We ate King Cake is a sweet bread that is popular food during the parade.

For every box of King Cake there is only one that has a ‘doll inside’. Lucky you if you got the doll because you don’t need to eat another cake again!

After the film showing, we explored the factory.

Ghost tour anyone? Well, we didn’t actually see ghosts but we went to some places where paranormals are mostly felt and seen.

The perfect meeting place!

Our tour guide was Miss Liza who started our ‘walk’ with a house that is located in the famous French Quarter.

According to her, a big fire took place on the ‘slave area’ which killed the 60% population of the city back in the day.

Our next stop was an apartment where a sad love story of a girl who died miserably in a rooftop because of true love.

A wife and a mistress’s story was our tour guide next tale and she ended our tour with an evil woman who locked and killed her slaves.
