For 2014, hopefully more events to come that I will be able to join!
I’ve never been to Visayas. I was thrilled when I won a gift certificate for a round trip plane ticket to any destination in the Philippines! That’s like hitting two birds with one stone! Palawan was the first place that jumped in my mind. I always wanted to go and see the beauty of Palawan. Unfortunately, due to ‘restrain’ budget and lack of preparation, I forego my dream.
My sister suggested Cebu and I immediately agreed with the wonderful idea. I inquired about the GC and I was totally disappointed with the result.
The round trip tickets were not free. I need to pay some surcharges which were not included with the gift certificate.
My sibling told me to give up the GC. She also advised me to just buy regular tickets. My sister already booked a flight to Cebu and she no longer could cancel it.
When Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) was forecast to hit Cebu, exactly the week of our trip, I lost hope to visit the Queen City of the South.
The day after the typhoon passed Visayas, it was our flight. We were expecting that my flight would be cancel but luckily our trip pushed through.
My flight was an hour delayed. When I stepped outside the Mactan International Airport, smelled the cool breeze and saw the city, it did not look like it was disturbed by Haiyan. The street lights and the buzzing sounds of the cars were welcoming us.
Coming from the airport, my sister and I went straight to the famous Mactan Shrine in Punta Engano. We rode a taxi and we paid 60 php. Unlike the one in Luneta Park, the statue of Lapu-Lapu is somehow smaller.
If you are looking for pasalubongs, here is the best place to buy because most of the items are cheap but in good quality!
After we visited the shrine, we headed to SM City Center Cebu. We rode a jeepney from Mactan Shrine to Park mall were we paid 14php. From the Park mall, we took another jeepney going to SM Center Cebu and the fare only cost 8 php.
The mall was almost close when we got there yet we were able to had groceries and even watched Thor: The Dark World before we went to the place we were going to stay.
Express Inn is perfect hotel for an overnight stay. It is just a five minutes walk from SM City Center Cebu and it is just few blocks away from the bus terminal going to the Northern part of Cebu.
What you can see before you proceed to the elevator:
It was already 11 in the evening when we checked-in at the hotel. We were worried that they won’t allow us to stay for our overnight stay but thank goodness we had availed our reservation!
The room is clean and tidy.
The bed is fine yet I’m not sure why there is ‘table cover’ on top of it.
There is a flat screen television and an air condition which is functioning very well.
High five to Express Inn’s liquid soap! I love the heavenly smell!
The free breakfast that was prepared for us was delicious!
The platter contained bread, fruits, scrambled eggs and orange juice which were perfect starter of our second day at Cebu!
It is so great to discover new things that suits your taste.
I enlisted below the products that I found not only interesting but helpful!
From head to toe, Snoe beauty items will take care of you.

Do you wish to be someone else even if it is one day only?
Watch them now and enjoy the rest of your holiday season! 🙂
The week before Christmas was truly stressing. Heavy traffic, buying and wrapping gifts and deadlines at work made me ask for ‘pampering time’.
Before the Christmas day arrives, I decided to reward myself with a massage! Earlier this year, I saw the Big Apple Express Spa at 3rd floor, Waltermart Mall Munoz, North Edsa Quezon City yet I just recently visited it.
I was welcomed by the two nice receptionists when I entered the spa. I checked at their menu service and inquired about the type of their massages.
There is ‘Make Your Own Massage’ where you have the privilege to create the massage that you want. The price starts at 49 php. There are also services for your feet and type of massages for your whole body.
I tried the NYC Express Full Body Massage (195php) and in addition, I got to avail the New Yorker’s Foot Scrub with Sole Blush (100 php).
While my foot spa session was being prepared, I sat on the reclining chair.
Ate Arianne, the therapist started washing my tired feet before she applied the powder on my legs.
Instantly, I felt the coldness ran through my legs.
She put the blush soles powder and she began scrubbing my heels!
I waited for ten minutes before she rinsed it off with the water and my feet were totally happy!
The massage was followed right away.
I liked the NYC Express Full Body Massage because I was able to participate with the whole session.
Ate Arianne asked me to sit-up and intertwined my hands while she massaged my whole body. No oil was being applied but I felt the full effect of the massage!
As a part of my on-going anniversary celebration. I’m giving a lucky reader a chance to experience a Manhattan Full Body Massage from Big Apple Express Spa.
Follow the tasks listed on the rafflecopter and you are own your way to pampered yourself this holiday season!
*Contest is open for Metro Manila residents only!
*Previous winners of my anniversary give-away is not allowed to join.
*GC can only be used at Waltermart North Edsa and valid for 3 months.
Good luck and have a blessed New Year everyone! 🙂
