I was lucky enough to won free movie passes courtesy of a promo from Fullybooked. Safe Haven was the featured film and seriously, I hadn’t watched or read the book. All I knew that was Safe Haven was written by renowned novelist Nicholas Sparks.

Josh Duhamel and Julianne Hough are the lead characters of the movie, and their team-up were not quite appealing to me. Looking at the two, I could not sense some spark between them however I still watched the film.

The movie starts with Katie (Julianne Hough) escaping from the ‘past’ that haunts her. She reaches the small town of Southport in North Carolina and decides to settle down. There she meets Alex (Josh Duhamel), a widower who owns a merchandise store and has two kids.

Katie also meets Jo (Cobie Smulders), her friendly neighbor who always walks by her side. Katie wants peace for her life.

Will she finally find a safe haven in Alex’s arms? Or will her past overcome her finding happiness?

I thought Safe Haven is just another ordinary love story but apparently it has some surprise revelations at the end. I giggled at most of the scenes in the film and I almost cried in the last part. It is a touching movie about again finding love and happiness where you least expect it.

I’ve seen Snoe products through some blog give-away from the previous months. When I attended an event and Snoe was one of its sponsors, I finally got to know the beauty product.

Miss Len, a quirky and very accommodating staff member of Snoe greeted me when I approached their station. I sought for an item that could eliminate the dryness of my skin. Usually, my face becomes dry after I apply face powder. She first asked me about the facial wash, powder and cream that I’m currently using. Miss Len immediately said that those products that I put might be causing the dryness. She then recommended Snoe Emucleanse Facial Wash. It is made from Emu Oil, Acai Berry and Singkamas.

Looks really could be deceiving!

Image

It costs only 199 pesos!

According to Miss Len, this bottle can last for few months! I started using Emucleanse last month and I am nearing the half way of the bottle now. I guess this bottle will last for only two months.

Just a little drop to your fingertip is all you need! Gently massage it to your face for 1-2 minutes and after washing, your face will totally feel and look fresh!

Miss Len noticed the lines under my eyes. She asked my age. I promptly answered her query. But Miss Len who is in her forties has unseen lines under her eyes. She informed me that her secret to this is the Tsubaki Oil.

Skin nutrition for 599 pesos.

For centuries, Japanese have been using this oil for their hair, skin and nails. Tsubaki Oil helps restore the skin’s PH balance and protect and soften hair. It also works as a natural skin barrier. Miss Len told me that all I need to do is spread a small amount of Tsubaki Oil under my eyes every night. I then thanked Miss Len for her great help and advice.

I visited the Snoe branch near our place because I wanted a sun block intended for use only on the face. I am usually in front of the computer and a sun screen lotion that is perfect to protect my skin.

I saw the Snoe BB cream and I was about to buy it when one of the Snoe staff members convinced me to get the Here Comes the Sunblock instead. It is a sun lotion that has SPF 45, Singkamas, Arbutin (a gentle whitening agent) and Bengkong give your skin a rosy look.

Image

Have a beautiful and rosy skin for 249 pesos.

The delicious smelling pink lotion indeed made my skin look healthy and protected my face from harmful rays.

Another great thing about Snoe products is they are all made from organic and herbal ingredients that are truly Filipino.

Before you plan to head to the nearest beach destination like Boracay or Puerto Galera, join my summer promo and you might win the amazing products from Snoe.

I’m giving out a bottle of Snoe Emucleanse Facial Wash and Here Comes the Sunblock which you can use for that much-anticipated trip or vacation. Click the link below for more details!

My fingernails have always been my problem. They are usually short because I have this habit on biting them when stressed and I hate myself for it. Thank goodness there was a long vacation, and I immediately dropped by the nearest nail salon and tried nail art for my pitiful and lifeless nails.

I saw this nail salon called “Nail It” located at a nearby mall a few months ago. I was surprised to find out they were going to celebrate their first year!

Image

As I entered the place, I was greeted by their polite staff and she even gave me a flyer so I could check the complete list of their services. I wanted to try their signature nail art for my holy week vacation. On fingernails, the service costs 25 pesos and when you want to try it on your toenails, you just add 5 pesos per nail.

I immediately felt happy when I sat on one of their comfortable chairs. The place was so inviting and relaxing. Ate Rowena was the one assigned to clean and polish my nails. She gave me some alcohol to sanitize my hands before letting it clean in water with a bit of soap. She also gave me a plastic bag containing the tools that would be used for my nails. She asked me to get it to ensure that the materials were sanitized.

When Ate Rowena was finished with my left hand, Ate Rocell, one of their nail technicians, started to create the nail art of my choice. There a lot of designs that I considered before I chose the style with the little dots. I chose blue as my base color and stick with the white dots as the design. My fingernails looked like a usual style of a painted Easter egg.

In less than ten minutes, my fingernails were transformed. My first nail art was a success!

Image

I love the finish product! 🙂

I paid 220 pesos for nail care and 250 pesos for the nail art. My 470 pesos was worth it!

Try it yourself! You may also choose among their other services like stamping and rhinestones. The salon also has services also for men and children. In addition, you may want to check out their spa package deals.

Visit one of their 11 branches around the metro and you will definitely love your nails more!

One lucky reader will experience at Nail It service for free! To know how, just click the link below.

I was in high school when my Mom asked me to prepare the ingredients for adobo. When I’m done slicing and washing the garlic and potatoes, she then requested me to cook adobo. It was my first time.  I was really scared in making just a little bit of mistake because we won’t have a dinner. For a beginner, my adobo somehow passed my family’s taste buds.

I am not a good cook and the taste of most of the foods I make lacks something. The Meet and Greet contest with Chef Shiella last March was simply timely for my ‘cooking problems’. I was very fortunate to have won the contest and had the opportunity to meet and greet the gorgeous and very talented Chef Shiella of Breakfast Magazine’s Fridays with Chef Shiella.

Image

c/o of Breakfast Magazine

The meet and greet happened yesterday at Brew-Kus- a cozy restaurant located at Unit G02 139 Corporate Center Bldg 139 Valero Street Salcedo Village in the bustling and busy city of Makati. It was lunchtime and there were lots of people enjoying their food while there I was nervous and excited upon entering the restaurant and meeting her.

I first met Miss Patty and Miss Jessica, two beautiful and nice Breakfast Magazine staffs members. Miss Jessica waved her hand when she saw me entering the restaurant and when I joined her table; she then introduced me to Miss Patty, Breakfast Magazine’s Creative Director. They introduced me to Chef Shiella with whom I was star-struck. Chef Sheilla asked about the type of foods I like, and for my lunch she told me to choose from among the excellent selections on their menu. They have all day breakfast like Three-cheese omelette. The Crisp Spinach Ravioli for a great starter. For your main course, you can choose from their wide selection of pastas, burgers and rice meals. They have delicious desserts and  refreshing beverages to complete your Brew-Kus dining.

I asked for some recommendations and Chef Shiella happily informed me about the best-sellers as well as the dishes she herself eats there. I asked for the Wild Mushroom Pasta and I paired it with their best seller Wintermelon Milk Tea with Nata as my sinker.

While waiting for the foods to be served, Chef Shiella started to throw in queries about me, and in returned she shared with me the stories about her, like the first dish she had ever cooked when she was a student and when she was a chef already. She also talked about her other most memorable, unforgettable and funny experiences when she was a student and when she worked for the first time. Chatting and getting to know Chef Shiella was awesome. She was really fun to be with and, more importantly, super down to earth.

When the clock struck three and the foods on our plate were gone, Chef Shiella somehow instantly became my ‘fairy godmother’. 🙂 She gave me a huge box which shocked me because I thought that the special gift I would receive was just a simple prize. Guess what was inside the box? A Jumbo Cooker! Wow. Just wow!

Image

The Jumbo cooker! Excited to use it!

I was already jumping up and down with about the cooker when, lo and behold, there was another present for me. OMG! And just what might be inside the second box? Before I opened it, Chef first gave a hint that this second gift fit my personality and that made me thrilled. I quickly eventually opened it and look what we got here- Knives of so many different colors! Perfect for preparing ingredients!

Image

Which should I use first? 🙂

Image

All these totally inspired me to really start cooking appropriate dishes.

But just like in any fairytale, my meet and greet with Chef Shiella had to end somehow. It was a short yet happy experience! Before saying goodbye to Chef Shiella, I brought out my Feb-March issue of Breakfast magazine and I requested that she sign it for me.

Take a look at my Breakfast magazine copy now! So lucky!

Image

Words are truly not enough to express how thankful I was for having a sumptuous lunch with Chef Shiella. More than the actual lunch, the gifts and the chat made this experience definitely worth remembering. It was really a once in a life opportunity.

Image

Miss Jessica, Me, Chef Shiella and Miss Patty

Thank you so much Breakfast Magazine for making all these possible. 🙂
