Miggy and Layda is the hottest ‘movie’ love team today.
The tandem started to make us giggled and laughed with ‘A Very Special Love’ in 2008.
Then we follow the story of Miguel Montenegro and Layda Magtalas with ‘You Changed My Life’ in 2009.
After 4 years, finally John Lloyd Cruz and Sarah Geronimo’s superb tandem comes back in the big screen with ‘It Takes a Man and a Woman’.
This is not a spoiler! This is just my reaction with the movie. 🙂
I’ve been a big fan of Miggy and Layda’s love team. I’ve seen the two movies for how many times already. Last Thursday, I caught the replay of A Very Special Love and just last night, I saw the ending of You Changed My Life.
I really adored the two movies but I bowed down with the last installment. From the beginning till the end, it was so funny. When I watched it awhile ago, they were so many people in the theater. I and my cousin even stood up because the available chairs only were in the front row.
I did expect that Layda changed and Miggy was still the same because Layda was out of his life. However, what I was happy about the development of the story, impressive lines and even the minor characters.
I loved Zoila and friends! The exchanging of lines was brilliant and laughable. My favorite whimsical line was: Great Wall of Layda! There were so many memorable lines but the one that marked on my brain was: Piliin mong magpatawad, piliin mo magmahal. (Choose to forgive, choose to love).
The theme of the film was appropriate for Filipinos especially this Lenten Season, we should really forgive those people who had hurt us and choose to love them.
I could not ask for more with the ‘finale’ of the movie. One of the best I’ve seen from our local romantic comedy films!
It Takes a Man and a Woman opens today, March 30 and do watch the film on the cinema houses. You will definitely laugh and cry your heart out.

I was sad when I was not able to attend the first BDJ event. It was held at Ace Water Spa and from that day on, I promised that the next BDJ event, I will be there rain or shine.
When I saw the Facebook post that BDJ Box will held an event, I was hesitant to join at first because I do not have a BDJ box. Yet when I found out that it was open for every Filipina, I immediately emailed my top three talks because it was first come, first serve basis.
When I received an email from BDJ telling me I got a slot, wow it was more than winning a lotto! I was so happy and excited to attend the BDJ Box Beauty Social. The event was held, March 24 at SM Mall of Asia, Atrium. It was from 10 am to 9 pm but the talks started by 1 in the afternoon.
I was glad that I came very early to the event because I had an ample time to check all the booths before the first talk. I first went to the Fashbook booth and luckily I got a mirror from their draw lance. I was curious with the offer of Browhaus and Strip so I signed up and tried their free upper lip threading! I wanted to cry because at first it was painful but I kept telling on myself, no tears Pau! You can do it! After a few minutes, I survived! 🙂
I visited the Goody booth and I’m one of the first 500 to received an ouch less ponytail. I really wanted to know if my skin is dry and good thing there was a moisture meter test gadget from Physiogel to determine your skin moisture. Yay! My skin moisture was still normal and the friendly Physiogel staff gave a free sample cream.
Before I registered for the first talk, I went to the pink carpet and got myself a free picture taking. I felt like a ‘celebrity’ when the photographer took a photo of mine! 🙂
The gorgeous Miss Kat Dy, one of the BDJ Box beauty ministry hosted the event.
Before the first talk, there was a mini ‘bring me’ game. Lucky girls won some prizes courtesy of Goody.
Beauty Ministry Q and A was the first talk and fortunately I’m of the Bellas who attended it.
Though it was scorching hot from their spot, the three lovely and witty ladies were so game in answering all the beauty inquiries. I got so many information from them about using eyeliners to people who does not have eyelids to the spot eraser for pimples. The best thing that I learned from the Beauty Ministry ladies was you should use sunblock though you are not heading to the beach. You should apply it to your skin especially when you are in front of the computer because only jeans can protect you from the sun.
The second talk began by two in the afternoon. It was Primed and Pretty with Mr. Krist Bansuelo.
- It is advisable that your make-up should only stay for 3 hours.
- When choosing the right BB cream for your face, you should always consider the best color that fits your complexion.
- Water is very important to hydrate your skin so before applying make-up, spray water to your face and let your skin absorbs it.
- Put a concealer on the center of your eye before applying eye shadow.
- Oily means that your face is already dirty and using just a tissue would not help you to cleanse the oiliness with your face. Physiogel cleanser is the perfect product to gently take away your make up.
After the two talks I attended, I got my free loot bag! Hooray! It contains wonderful products from the most leading brands!
I visited the other beauty station before heading home. There were so many girls waiting at Revlon for the free make-up and Max Factor for free manicure. I was not able to try the free nail art at Yuka because I already have nail art with my fingernails. I got a glimpse of Shiseido products and the new Selena Gomez’s fragrance. The L’Occitane gave free cream samples and I’m glad to be introduced with Snoe. The pretty Miss Len was so accommodating with my questions about their products.
Too bad, I had to go while the third talk was in full effect. I had so much fun with the experience that I’m so thrilled to share it with my friends and co-workers who was not able to show up with the BDJBox Social Event.
Thank you so much BDJ! You’re the best! Congratulations for the success! God bless!

“No Way to Treat a Lady” is a best-selling selling thriller novel written by William Goldman. It was made into a Hollywood movie in 1968 and now the Repertory Philippines lets us watch and enjoy it on stage!
It was actually the first play I watched this year. Its story revolved around a detective and his search for the ‘Strangler Killer.’ The stage play starts with Moe/Morris Brummell (Joel Trinidad), a single detective who still being harassed by his mother to be a Jewish doctor and Christopher Gill (Audie Gemora) who was unemployed and unpopular actor. Gil wanted recognition from his late mother (Pinky Marquez) through landing on the front page of New York Times. Gil’s wanting to please his mother lead him to a series of killing of women who look like her mother, by strangling their necks and leaving a mark on their forehead with a lipstick.
In this cat and mouse chase, only one should survive. Is it the detective who is struggling to step out of the shadow of his big brother and manage his own life on his own? Or is it the actor turned killer who portrays every disguise with perfection to be recognized by the world?
Want to know the answer? Buy your tickets now! You will definitely love this beautifully captivating musical play with a surprise twist at the end! My eyes were glued on the world class performances and my ears pampered with sterling songs all through out the show. The play is being enacted only by five talented actors including Carla Guevara-Laforteza who plays Sarah Stone, the love interest of Brummell and Miss Sheila Francisco, who is Flora Brummell, the funny yet annoying mother of Moe.
“No Way to Treat a Lady” will still be performed at Onstage, 2nd floor Greenbelt 1 Paseo De Roxas cor. Legazpi St. Makati City on March 16,17,22,23, and 24.
The first ever online voucher I bought was from TCAT. My attention got caught with the 50% cut off of the gift certificate. It was from a restaurant named Impressca.
I was not familiar with the resto as well as its location at The Block, SM North Edsa. The place is located at 4th floor where people usually don’t hang out.
It was nearly lunchtime when I went to Impressca. I presented the voucher to the polite store assistant. She asked for my order and I told her I’d like to have the Protein Booster. Unfortunately, the meal is available only at Mother Ignacia, where their main branch is located. The menu at their branch consisted instead of salads, panini, pasta and healthy beverages.
I asked for their pasta’s bestseller. Pasta Chicken Alfredo was something new to me and I really wanted to know why it is the most popular with their customers.I chose Veggie Cheesemelt as my panini and Melon Shake Grande from their fruit shake selection.
I wanted to try one of their Digest and Relax juices but that day, none was available.
I was really hungry that I took a huge bite of Veggie Cheesemelt. The healthy wheat bread with cheese, lettuce and potato made me ask for more. The light appetizer costs only 75 pesos.
The Pasta Chicken Alfredo was also fine to me because it was tasteful.
With the Melon Shake Grande, I was a bit disappointed. At first, I was enjoying the taste of the pure melon but after a while all I could taste was water. Perhaps, it was all natural, no sugar added.
The Load All You Can Salad is really the Star of Impressca.
For only 99 pesos, you can create your own salad.
You have a variety of ingredients to choose from. There are onions, potatoes, cucumbers, tomatoes, lettuces, jelly gulamans, fruit cocktails, singkamas, nata de coco, carrots, elbow macaroni and mayonnaise to complete your choice.
The salad is perfect to end your Impressca experience. 🙂
